The calls will work like this: each month Libby interviews a thought leader, topic expert or bestselling author for the latest strategies on creating lasting life change. These aren’t the so-called gurus who haven’t refreshed their content in years, these are cutting-edge strategists with plenty to share about success.
But that’s only the beginning. Following the half-hour interview, Libby will personally lead the Accountability Club group coaching call to accelerate your growth within a supportive atmosphere. In this interactive forum, you will focus on your One Year Vision, Monthly Milestones and the Game Changer Goals that will propel you forward one action step at a time.
You can ask questions specific to your needs, get feedback from people who get it and – most important of all – be held accountable to achieving the milestones you’ve set for yourself. And if you miss a class or just want to hear one again, no problem. You’ll receive a free downloadable MP3 of every club call, plus tons of other resources from the Accountability Club member site.
Following is some information to help you get the most out of your Accountability Club experience, whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned club member.
STEP ONE: Complete your One Year Vision exercise to help you clarify the personal and professional life you want. You’ll find the exercise Libby created in the Resources section of this site.
STEP TWO: Pick a Monthly Milestone prior to each call, which takes place at 5 pm PST / 8 pm EST on the last Thursday of each month. Your Monthly Milestone is any target you wish to hit in the next thirty days. It can be off-the-charts ambitious or relatively modest, whatever it takes to get you started. You can pick a sales target, revenue increase, fitness or relationship goal – any achievement that is deeply meaningful to you.
Although your Milestones should be realistic, they don’t need to be confined only to those goals that are within your specific control. The reason for this is that I want you to start thinking BIG. We’ll get to the action component – that is, the specific action steps that you do control – in a minute.
Here are some examples of Monthly Milestones:
- I will increase revenue by 20% within a month.
- I will sell 1,000 books.
- I will meet a romantic partner.
- I will lose ten pounds this month.
- I will sign fifteen new clients.
- I will appear on a national television show.
STEP THREE: Next you’ll drill down a little deeper and determine the Game Changer Goals that will get you to your Milestone. Game Changers must be realistic, specific and measurable. And you must commit to completing 3-5 Game Changer Goals within the next thirty days.
Notice I didn’t say pick 20 Game Changers. That’s because if you focus on too many things at once, you risk not accomplishing anything at all. Better to set 3 action goals and complete every single one of them.
Here’s an example. Say you’ve set a Monthly Milestone to increase revenue 20%. So what are the Game Changers Goals that will actually get you there? They might include:
- I’ll attend 3 high-quality (specifically defined by you in terms of size, industry, location, etc.) networking events.
- I’ll place 50 sales calls.
- I will get roll out a new product or service.
- I will begin a strategic social media networking campaign.
As a member of the Accountability Club, you’ll be asked to determine your Monthly Milestone for each club call. If you’re a new member, you’ll set your Monthly Milestone going forward. If you’re a continuing member, you’ll reflect back on last month’s Milestone, then set your new Monthly Milestone for the next month.
The questions I’ll ask you every month – and you’ll soon make a habit of asking yourself – are:
- Did I hit my Monthly Milestone?
- If so, how does that make me feel?
- If not, why didn’t I reach my Milestone?
- What do I need to do differently to reach my Milestone next month?
- Reframe the Milestone – that is, think of it in an entirely new way.
- Repeat the Milestone – simply try it again next month.
- Replace the Milestone – recognize that the Milestone wasn’t the best choice and replace it with another.
